Monaco continued their winning run in the Europa League with a 2-0 victory over Nordsjaelland in the third round of the league phase.
Egypt international Ibrahim Adel came on for Nordsjaelland in the 61st minute, replacing Vilum Perlthilsen, but could not help the Danish side avoid defeat.
Matisse Ditourbet put Monaco ahead after 33 minutes, finishing from inside the six-yard box to give the visitors the lead.
Nordsjaelland were unable to find an equaliser and their hopes of taking a point were ended in the first minute of second-half stoppage time. Matisse Abline scored Monaco’s second with a shot that went to the right of the goalkeeper.
The result means Nordsjaelland are still waiting for their first win in the competition. They have collected two points from three matches after drawing twice and losing once.
Monaco, by contrast, have won all three of their games and now sit fourth in the standings with nine points. They are level on points with Twente, Panathinaikos and Lugano.
Nordsjaelland remain 25th with two points.
