Barred by stiff competition within Monaco’s defense, Nicolas Isimat-Mirin seized his opportunity on Saturday by starting in place of Eric Abidal against Bastia.
Praised by coach Ranieri after the match, the Guadeloupean defender is determined to establish himself in the club’s central defense.
“When asked if I thought about leaving? No, the project has always been very clear. The coach kept me informed of his plans. Although I expected more playing time, I’ve learned from my mistakes and understood what is expected of me. My recent starts reflect this, so why not continue?
