AS Monaco seems to be facing a rough patch in Ligue 1, as Claudio Ranieri’s team is struggling to secure victories in recent matches. After a defeat in Lille last Sunday, the Principality club managed only a 1-1 draw against Evian-TG at their home stadium, Louis II, on Friday evening, opening the 13th day of Ligue 1.
This result, which marks the third consecutive match without a win, adds weight to the claims that AS Monaco might be on the decline, particularly after suffering two defeats in the previous week. Despite securing a point, ASM maintains its third place in the league standings, trailing behind Lille in the second position.
Evian-TG showcased an eye-catching and dangerous performance throughout the match, and they had opportunities to secure a victory. Modou Sougou, the Senegalese international, expressed his disappointment, saying, “There is a lot of disappointment because I believe there was room to win. I missed a one-on-one with the goalkeeper, and that was the key to the match. We had the means to win, but unfortunately, we were unable to capitalize on our opportunities.”
