MONACO: CLAUDIO RANIERI JUSTIFIES ABIDAL’S ABSENCE AGAINST LYON
Initially included in the Monegasque squad for the journey to Lyon on Sunday for the 29th day of Ligue 1, Eric Abidal was notably absent from the match sheet. Following his team’s triumph (3-2), manager Claudio Ranieri explained Abidal’s absence by citing a bout of gastroenteritis that also affected several other players in the Monaco squad.
