Monaco boss Sébastien Pocognoli reveals positive signs for Paul Pogba’s debut

Monaco manager Sébastien Pocognoli has revealed Franco-Guinean star Paul Pogba could make his debut for the club this weekend.

Pogba, a former World Cup winner has yet to feature for the French outfit after penning a two-year deal with the club due to fitness issues.

“We have a session today so we’ll see. If it goes well, he can be there. He has had a run of sessions, and the feedback is positive. He has been able to test himself in match conditions. There are good signs,” said the Monaco manager.

The 32-year-old potential debut could mark a huge milestone, as his last appearance on the pitch dates back to September 2023, during his spell with Juventus in a match against Empoli.

Pogba was sidelined due to a failed doping test, which initially resulted in a four-year ban; however, in October this year, the court reduced his suspension to 18 months.

The experienced midfielder joined Monaco as a free agent following contract termination with Juventus after the conclusion of his doping ban, but due to injuries, he has yet to make his debut for the club.

Pogba was once considered as one of the best midfielder in world football, having played an integral role in France World Cup triumph back in 20218.

As gears up for his return to action, he will be hoping to regain his form and compete at the highest level.
