Aymen Abdennour Set to Leave AS Monaco, Felipe Macedo to Join as Replacement
Aymen Abdennour’s departure from AS Monaco appears imminent, as the Tunisian defender has been linked with multiple European clubs. Although he hasn’t officially left yet, it is clear that Abdennour will not feature for Monaco this season. His coach, Leonardo Jardim, confirmed the move was on the cards just days ago.
Monaco has already secured his replacement in Felipe Macedo, a highly regarded 21-year-old central defender from Brazilian club Goias. The transfer has reportedly been finalized, with Macedo set to join Monaco for medical tests on Friday. According to the Brazilian club’s sporting director, the agreement has been reached, and the financial details have been sorted. The deal is said to be worth €2.5 million, with 85% of the transfer fee going to Goias and the remainder going to the player.
Felipe Macedo made his professional debut in 2012 and has since played 66 matches for Goias. Monaco is hopeful that the promising young defender will step up to fill the void left by Abdennour, providing stability to their defense for the upcoming season.
