Mohammed Noor rejects ‘chaotic’ label after Omar Al-Ghamdi criticism

Mohammed Noor has rejected criticism from former Al Hilal player Omar Al-Ghamdi after being described as “chaotic” during celebrations with Saudi national team director Fahad Al-Mufarrij.

The exchange followed the Saudi national team’s victory in the latest Arabian Gulf Cup. A video showing former Al-Ittihad player Noor celebrating with Al-Mufarrij was broadcast during an analytical programme on Saudi sports channels, prompting Al-Ghamdi to comment on the scene.

“Omar Al-Ghamdi, the former Al Hilal player, said: “Mohammed Noor is always chaotic, whether on the pitch or off it, and he will never change.”

The remark led to a heated response from Noor, who objected to the description and argued that Al-Ghamdi knew him well after the pair had faced each other during their careers in Saudi football.

Speaking on the programme Nadina, Noor said: “I do not accept these comments, because Omar knows me well. I am not chaotic; he could not sleep before facing me.”

The former Al-Ittihad captain said he did not understand the reason for Al-Ghamdi’s criticism and insisted that his actions had simply reflected the emotion of the occasion.

“I do not know why he said that, but I was happy and celebrated spontaneously with Al-Mufarrij. There was nothing else to it,” Noor said.

He added: “I watched what he said about the national team and was shocked, because he is not as happy as we are.”
