Martin Allen urges West Ham to rethink Mohammed Kudus' role

West Ham United manager Graham Potter has admitted that Mohammed Kudus has had a disappointing season from his own perspective.

The 24-year-old Ghanaian midfielder has struggled to replicate his impressive performances from his debut season with the Hammers.

Kudus has scored only three goals and provided two assists in 27 appearances this season across all competitions.

His campaign was further disrupted by a five-game suspension and a hefty fine after he slapped a Tottenham defender out of frustration earlier in the season. This setback affected his rhythm and limited his impact on the team.

Speaking ahead of West Ham’s Premier League match against Wolverhampton Wanderers, Potter evaluated Kudus’ season from two perspectives.

“I think Mo has had probably a season that, from his perspective, would be a little bit disappointing, not because of his lack of effort or anything like that, but sometimes these things happen,” he said.

He added that Kudus had been “fantastic” in training and had improved his fitness over time.

West Ham’s overall performance this season has also been below expectations, leaving the team in a difficult position on the league table.

As the club prepare to face Wolves, Kudus will hope for a positive turnaround in his form.
