Ghanaian midfielder Mohammed Kudus has reaffirmed his commitment to West Ham United, expressing his readiness and motivation for the upcoming season under manager Julen Lopetegui.
Kudus, who was named Ghanaian Player of the Year, joined West Ham last year on a five-year contract from Ajax, where he had emerged as a highly regarded talent.
Despite adapting to the challenges of the Premier League, Kudus emphasized his confidence in taking on the new role at West Ham.
“I knew I was ready,” Kudus stated, as quoted by Ghana Soccer. “That’s why I went for it. Once I made the decision, I knew what I wanted to achieve.”
The 23-year-old midfielder acknowledged the support he received from his teammates and the club’s staff, which facilitated his quick integration into the team.
“A big congratulations to all the teammates and the people at the club. They really helped me feel comfortable,” Kudus expressed his gratitude.
Reflecting on the competitive nature of the Premier League, Kudus recognized the challenges ahead while remaining optimistic about his potential for growth.
“There are a lot of matches, difficult matches; it’s a challenging league. But I still believe there’s more to come from me. This is just the beginning,” Kudus affirmed.
Looking ahead to the new season, Kudus underlined his preparedness to face tougher competition, despite reported interest from other clubs in securing his services.
“We know things are going to get tougher. I’m ready to face it,” he asserted confidently.
During his debut season at West Ham, Kudus made a significant impact, contributing eight goals and six assists in the Premier League.
His performance was equally impressive in the Europa League, where he scored five goals, including a standout solo effort that was hailed as the ‘Goal of the Tournament’.
As West Ham prepares for the upcoming campaign, Kudus’s dedication and form will be pivotal for the team’s aspirations in both domestic and European competitions.
With Lopetegui at the helm, Kudus aims to build on his achievements and continue his development in the demanding environment of English football.
The midfielder’s commitment to West Ham reaffirms his focus on achieving new heights and contributing to the club’s ambitions in the Premier League and beyond.
