2026 WCQ: Kudus strikes first as Ghana take lead against Comoros

Tottenham Hotspur star Mohammed Kudus is set to miss Ghana’s upcoming international friendly matches against Japan and South Korea due to injury.

The other players set to miss the two matches include Jordan Ayew, Alex Djiku, Thomas Partey, Fatawu Issahaku and Joseph Paintsil

Kudus, 24, has been sidelined for Tottenham’s last two matches due to a minor injury and will remain in London to continue his recovery.

Ghana’s technical team has confirmed that Kudus has been excused from international duty on medical grounds.

Spurs manager Thomas Frank has expressed optimism about Kudus’ recovery, noting that he is “very confident” the Ghanaian midfielder will be fit for their next Premier League fixture.

Kudus’ absence is a setback for the Black Stars, as he has been one of the team’s standout performers in recent months.

Ghana will face Japan on Friday, November 14, before taking on South Korea next Tuesday, November 18.

Even without Mohammed Kudus, Ghana will be expected to go into the two friendlies with a very strong squad.

Coach Otto Addo has reportedly also handed chances to some new players to audition in the absence of Kudus and a few other top players.
