Ghana striker Mohammed Fuseini attacked and robbed in Brussels daylight incident

Ghanaian striker Mohammed Fuseini was attacked and robbed in Brussels after being forcibly removed from his parked car during a violent incident involving five individuals.

The Union Saint-Gilloise forward was targeted on Sunday while sitting inside his vehicle, with reports stating that the attackers pulled him from the car before restraining him and taking his belongings.

According to Belgian newspaper Het Laatste Nieuws, the group immediately stole Fuseini’s mobile phone before taking a watch believed to be worth between €8,000 and €14,000.

The 24-year-old was taken to hospital following the attack, where he received medical attention after the incident.

A video showing the robbery has since circulated on social media, attracting widespread attention. Police have confirmed they are aware of the footage but have referred the case to the public prosecutor’s office, which is now leading the investigation.

Union Saint-Gilloise released a statement following the incident and expressed their appreciation for the work carried out by Belgian authorities.

“We thank the Brussels police for their excellent work ,” the statement said.

The club has also continued to support Fuseini after the shocking event, which occurred while the striker was away from football activities.

Fuseini has been a Union player for the past two years after joining the Belgian side following previous spells with Austrian club Sturm Graz and Danish outfit Randers.

The Ghana international has established himself as an important attacking option for Union Saint-Gilloise since arriving at the club, continuing his development after beginning his professional career abroad.

The investigation into the attack remains ongoing, with authorities working to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those responsible.
