Al Ahly has moved quickly to end speculation over Mohamed Youssef’s future, making it clear that he remains in charge of football affairs with full authority.
The club’s leadership confirmed there has been no change to his position, easing concerns among fans about possible shifts in the club’s structure.
A club source told Kooora that Youssef continues as the top official in the football sector, responsible for youth teams, the senior side, women’s football, and academies at home and abroad, including the Delfi team in the third division.
The source explained that Walid Salah El Din’s appointment as director of football and Shadi Mohamed’s role with the women’s team do not alter Youssef’s standing. He remains the main link between all departments, the planning committee, and club president Mahmoud El Khatib.
The source added that the only adjustment is Youssef no longer sitting on the bench during matches. He highlighted Youssef’s vital role in preparing for the Club World Cup, transfer activity, and contract renewals. Decisions, he noted, are always made collectively.
