Mohamed Wagdi makes La Viena FC switch as Egypt winger joins from Ismaily
Egyptian winger Mohamed Wagdi has joined La Viena FC from Ismaily on a free transfer, completing a move that takes the 24-year-old left-sided forward to a new club in the 2026-27 season.
Wagdi, who was born in Ismailia and prefers his right foot, has moved after spending the previous part of his senior career with Ismaily. He joined the club from Ismaily SC Under-21 in July 2023, making the step into the first-team setup after progressing through the club’s ranks.
The left winger has recorded appearances in four Egyptian competitions during his career. His involvement includes 10 Premier League matches, seven relegation play-off games, four Egyptian League Cup appearances and one Egypt Cup outing.
Across those matches, Wagdi has played 589 minutes. His most substantial involvement came in the Premier League, where he accumulated 262 minutes, while he featured for a further 182 minutes in the relegation play-offs.
The move gives La Viena FC a player whose primary role is on the left side of the attack. Wagdi’s ability to operate as a left winger and his preference for his right foot provide a clear outline of the position he has occupied during his career to date.
Wagdi’s arrival also marks a fresh chapter after his time with Ismaily, where he made the progression from the club’s Under-21 side to the senior team. His previous club career began with that move in 2023, before he switched to La Viena FC two years later.
The transfer was registered on 14 August 2026, with Wagdi’s market value listed at €75,000 at the time of the move. No contract expiry date has been disclosed for his spell with La Viena FC.
Wagdi has now completed his free-transfer move from Ismaily to La Viena FC.
