Mohamed Shokry: Egyptian left-back joins El Masry from Al Ahly in €510k deal
Egypt defender Mohamed Shokry has joined El Masry from Al Ahly in a permanent €510,000 transfer. The 27-year-old left-back has signed a three-year contract with the Port Said club running until 30 June 2029.
Shokry moves on after returning to Al Ahly last season from Cleopatra FC, and now makes the switch to a Premier League rival in search of a regular role on the left side of defence. His transfer comes with a current market valuation of €400,000, underlining El Masry’s decision to invest significantly to secure his services.
Born in Sharkia and standing at 1.70m, Shokry is a left-footed full-back with extensive experience in Egyptian domestic competitions. He has made 75 appearances in the Premier League, contributing four goals and seven assists, and has also featured in the Egypt Cup, League Cup, Super Cup and CAF Champions League.
Shokry’s career has seen him move between some of the country’s leading sides. After emerging at Al Ahly’s youth ranks, he gained first-team experience during a loan spell with Smouha, before an initial free transfer to Cleopatra FC. He later returned to Al Ahly in 2025 before this latest move to El Masry.
He arrives with a strong honours list, having been part of an Egyptian Premier League and Egypt Cup double with Al Ahly in 2019-20. He also collected three consecutive Egyptian League Cup titles with Cleopatra FC between 2022 and 2025, and an Egyptian Super Cup win with Al Ahly in 2025-26.
Shokry is now tied to El Masry until 2029 following his €510,000 move from Al Ahly.
