Mohamed Sherif’s chances of joining Al-Ittihad Alexandria are slim – Abdel Zaher El-Saqqa
Al-Ittihad Alexandria’s sporting director, Abdel Zaher El-Saqqa, has clarified that the possibility of signing Al-Ahly striker Mohamed Sherif remains uncertain.
El-Saqqa spoke on “On Sport 1,” explaining that the club has been working under financial constraints but is still focused on strengthening the squad, especially in the striker position.
“We are looking to sign new players, most notably in the striker position. It is possible that we will sign Mohamed Sherif from Al Ahly, and it is also possible that the striker will be a foreigner.”
He added that new signings were included in the team’s recent match against Ceramica, and that the club is trying to navigate through its current difficulties.
“The new signings added to the team in the last Ceramica match, and we are striving to get out of the crisis we are going through.”
Addressing the speculation around Sherif’s potential move, El-Saqqa stressed that the deal is far from guaranteed.
“Mohamed Sherif joining Al-Ittihad Alexandria is not 99% certain; the deal is only 50% certain. The player’s desire is very important, and that is what we are working on. We will see what happens with Al-Ahly’s management, and the percentage of his joining is a little low.”
