Mohamed Sherif is back at Al Ahly and ready to make history.
The Egyptian forward officially rejoined the club on Wednesday, signing a five-year deal that marks the start of his second chapter with the Cairo giants.
Having left Saudi side Al-Khaleej, Sherif made it clear that his heart was always set on returning.
Sherif said in a television interview that he was confident of returning to Al Ahly, which prompted him to reject numerous offers after his contract with Saudi club Al-Khaleej expired.
He added that he will “be up to the challenge in Al Ahly’s attack,” vowing to play with all his might to secure a place in Spanish coach Jose Riveiro’s squad.
He explained that he is looking forward to becoming Al Ahly’s all-time top scorer and is striving to achieve more titles, noting that the team’s fans will accept nothing less.
Sherif had a strong first spell with Al Ahly from 2018 to 2023, scoring 58 goals in 151 appearances across all competitions, including a loan stint at Enppi.
