Mohamed Shahin: Egypt striker joins Tanta SC on free transfer
Egypt centre-forward Mohamed Shahin has joined Tanta SC from El Dakhlia on a free transfer, completing his move on 2 August 2026.
The 33-year-old has signed a contract with Tanta that runs until 30 June 2028. Shahin, who was born in Mansoura and prefers his right foot, moves to the club after spending the second half of the 2025-26 season with El Dakhlia.
Shahin joined El Dakhlia from El Sekka SC on 1 January 2026, also on a free transfer. His latest switch continues a series of moves between Egyptian clubs during a career that has included spells with WE SC, Telecom Egypt SC, Porto Suez, Zed FC, Cleopatra FC, FC Masr, Talaea El Gaish, Petrojet and Mansoura.
He began his senior club career with Mansoura before moving to Petrojet in July 2016. In January 2019, Shahin left Petrojet for Talaea El Gaish, later joining Iraqi side A. Baghdad SC on loan before returning to Talaea El Gaish at the end of that season.
Shahin then moved to Cleopatra FC in August 2019 and subsequently spent time with FC Masr, Zed FC and Porto Suez. His move to Porto Suez from Zed FC in September 2021 was completed as a free transfer. He later joined Telecom Egypt SC from Porto Suez before moving to WE SC in July 2025.
His recorded Premier League figures include 30 appearances, six goals and two assists, with 872 minutes played and a goal every 145 minutes. He has also made four Egypt Cup appearances, playing 153 minutes.
The forward’s arrival adds another experienced attacking player to Tanta’s squad as the club begins a new contract cycle with Shahin. His deal is scheduled to remain in place for two seasons, covering the period through June 2028.
Shahin has now completed his free transfer from El Dakhlia to Tanta SC.
