Mohamed Samara switches to Golden Gate as Egyptian forward leaves Kafr Elzayat

Egyptian centre-forward Mohamed Samara has begun a new chapter with Golden Gate, joining the club from Kafr Elzayat on a free transfer.

The 31-year-old’s move was completed on 12 August 2026, adding an experienced Egyptian forward to Golden Gate’s squad. Samara has played primarily as a centre-forward during his career and arrives after a spell with Kafr Elzayat that began in January 2026.

Samara made five recorded appearances across the Egypt Cup and Premier League, playing 163 minutes in the cup competition and a further 53 minutes in the league. Those appearances came during a career spent with clubs in Egypt, where he has represented teams including El Dakhlia, Raya SC, El Sekka SC, Qanah, Tersana, El Minya, FC Masr, El Raja and El Mokawloon.

Before moving to Golden Gate, Samara joined Kafr Elzayat from El Dakhlia on 2 January 2026. His departure from Kafr Elzayat brings an eight-month stay at the club to an end and completes his latest move within Egyptian football.

The forward’s career has included several free transfers. He first moved into senior football from Enppi SC Under-21s to El Mokawloon in January 2016, before later switching from El Mokawloon to El Raja. Samara then joined El Minya in 2019, having previously played for the club earlier in his career, and subsequently moved through Tersana, Qanah, El Sekka SC and Raya SC.

His transfer history also includes a free move from FC Masr to El Minya in July 2019 and a free transfer from Tersana to Qanah in August 2023. He later joined El Sekka SC from Raya SC without a fee being recorded for that move, before transferring to Raya SC from El Dakhlia in January 2025.

Samara’s arrival at Golden Gate is the latest completed step in a playing career that has taken him across a number of Egyptian clubs since his move from the Enppi Under-21 setup. His previous club, Kafr Elzayat, was the most recent stop before he switched to Golden Gate.

The Egyptian forward is now a Golden Gate player following his free transfer from Kafr Elzayat.
