Mohamed Salah’s Trabzonspor move celebrated with Koksal Baba’s Egyptian-themed welcome
Turkish content creator Koksal Baba has celebrated Mohamed Salah’s move to Trabzonspor with a dance in the club’s shirt and a display of support for the Egypt captain.
Trabzonspor confirmed on Wednesday that Salah had joined the club on a free transfer, following his departure from Liverpool at the end of last season.
Koksal Baba, who is well known for supporting Trabzonspor, shared a video of his reaction on his social media accounts. In the footage, he dances while wearing a Trabzonspor shirt to the sound of a new song released by the club’s supporters’ association to welcome Salah.
The social media personality also appeared in a shirt featuring the Egyptian flag. It was the same shirt he wore during the 2026 World Cup to show his backing for Egypt during their matches at the tournament.
Salah’s arrival marks the latest stage of a career that brought him domestic and international success during nine years with Liverpool. He left the Premier League club after becoming one of the most recognisable figures in its modern history.
Reports in the Turkish media say Trabzonspor have agreed a two-year contract with Salah. Those reports also claim the former Liverpool forward will earn an annual salary of 17m euros, in addition to other benefits.
The club’s announcement earlier on Wednesday formally confirmed the transfer, with Salah now beginning a new chapter in Turkey after the conclusion of his Liverpool career.
Koksal Baba’s video quickly provided a distinctive welcome for the Egypt captain, combining Trabzonspor’s traditional colours with a visible tribute to Salah’s home country. His celebration reflected both his established support for the Turkish club and his enthusiasm for the signing of such a high-profile player.
Salah’s move is being viewed in Turkey against the background of his achievements at Liverpool, where he collected individual and team honours across his nine-year spell. Trabzonspor will now have the experienced Egypt international in their squad after securing his services as a free agent.
The reported agreement includes a two-year stay and a salary of 17m euros per season, although those financial details were described by Turkish media reports rather than included in the announcement summarised here.
For Koksal Baba, however, the focus was on welcoming Salah. Wearing Trabzonspor colours, singing along to the supporters’ new song and dancing in celebration, he marked the transfer in a video shared with his followers. His second appearance in the Egypt shirt underlined his continued support for the national team, having worn it during the 2026 World Cup.
