Liverpool manager Arne Slot has highlighted that Mohamed Salah’s scoring form relies on the collective effort of the team, emphasizing that creating the right positions on the field is key to his success.
Speaking ahead of Saturday’s Premier League clash with Newcastle United at Anfield, Slot pointed to Salah’s recent six-goal haul against Qarabag as a product of team organization and smart positioning around the penalty area.
In an interview with the Liverpool Echo, Slot explained, “With Salah and the rest of the players, we create spaces deep in the pitch that help the attackers score. In some matches, the players were in good positions even if they preferred to pass rather than shoot, and I was happy with the goals that came from Chiesa and Florian.”
The manager also touched on defensive responsibilities for the right wing, noting, “It depends on the movements of the wingers, and they can be doubled up if they don’t move correctly. Every player adds something different, and Endo is smart as a midfielder even though he doesn’t have Frimpong’s dribbling skills.
“The most important thing is to make sure Salah is in the right positions to ensure consistent performance and contribute to winning,” he added.
