Mohamed Salah’s agent, Ramy Abbas, has strongly refuted ongoing speculation regarding the Liverpool star’s future amid conflicting reports in the media. With Salah’s contract set to expire next summer and growing interest from other clubs, particularly in Saudi Arabia, rumors have been swirling about the forward’s next move.
In 2022, Salah signed a three-year deal with Liverpool, making him the club’s highest-paid player at £350,000 per week. However, discussions about extending his contract beyond its current terms have reportedly stalled.
As a result, Salah will be eligible to sign a pre-contract agreement with another club in January, intensifying speculation about his potential departure.
Adding to the uncertainty, Salah hinted after Liverpool’s match against Manchester United that this season could be his last at Anfield.
This statement has fueled numerous reports regarding his future, suggesting the Egyptian international may seek a new challenge.
Additionally, key Liverpool players like Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold face similar contract situations, further amplifying the pressure on the club to secure their star players.
In response to the growing speculation, Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas took to social media to address what he described as baseless rumors.
He accused journalists of fabricating stories for clicks, asserting that no legitimate sources have insight into Salah’s future plans.
“All those ‘journalists’ who imply having ‘inside information’ about Mohamed’s future are making claims/posts based on absolutely nothing,” Abbas stated in a scornful tweet.
“Just click-whoring. ‘Sources close to Mohamed’ don’t exist.
This post is really just to tell you that they don’t know.”
Despite the uncertainty surrounding his future, Salah has had an impressive start to the season.
The Liverpool forward has already contributed three goals and three assists in the club’s opening three matches.
Additionally, Salah celebrated a personal milestone by scoring in his 100th appearance for the Egyptian national team during a match against Botswana.
Liverpool now faces a crucial period in both domestic and European competitions.
They are set to play Nottingham Forest on Saturday, 14 September, before traveling to San Siro for their Champions League opener against AC Milan on Tuesday, 17 September.
With the January transfer window fast approaching, Liverpool will be keen to resolve Salah’s contract situation to avoid further distractions as they aim for success on multiple fronts.
The future of Salah at Liverpool remains uncertain, but for now, the focus will be on his performances on the pitch, where he continues to be a key figure for both club and country.
