A true legend at AS Roma, Francesco Totti spent his entire professional career at the Italian club before retiring. Between 2015 and 2017, he had the opportunity to play alongside Mohamed Salah, who later made the high-profile move to Liverpool. While Totti admitted he was initially disappointed by Salah’s departure, he still cherishes the memories of playing with the Egyptian star and believes the transfer was the right decision.
“Unfortunately, in life, there are choices that are made and must be respected,” Totti told beIN Sports. “I think he did the right thing by going to Liverpool because it’s one of the biggest clubs in Europe. For a top player like him, it’s natural to take such an opportunity. We still talk, we send each other messages, and I’m happy to be able to say that I knew not only a great player but also a great man.”
Salah continues to shine in England. On Sunday, he scored his 19th Premier League goal of the season with a stunning strike against Chelsea — a goal that fans and pundits alike will replay for years to come.
