Mohamed Salah to be unveiled as Trabzonspor player at Papara Park
Trabzonspor will officially present Egypt forward Mohamed Salah as their new player at Papara Park on Thursday, 6 August, in what the Turkish club has described as a “historic moment”.
The ceremony will begin at 19:30 local time, with the club inviting supporters to attend wearing shirts from the new season.
“Tomorrow, Thursday 6 August at 19:30, the signing ceremony for our new player Mohamed Salah will be held at Papara Park,” Trabzonspor said in an official statement.
The club added: “We invite all our fans to our stadium, Papara Park, wearing the shirts of the new season, to witness a historic moment and take the first step together in this unforgettable journey.”
Salah arrived in Turkey earlier on Tuesday ahead of completing his move to Trabzonspor. He was seen wearing a Trabzonspor shirt for the first time on the plane after landing at Istanbul Airport.
The 34-year-old also addressed the club’s supporters in a message, saying: “Trabzon, are you ready? I can hear you, and I will see you for the first time.”
Salah is expected to undergo a medical examination in Trabzon before signing his contract with the Turkish club. Trabzonspor said the Egypt international is due to arrive at Trabzon Airport at 20:00 local time on Wednesday, 5 August.
His move is set to be for two seasons. Salah will reportedly earn 17m euros per season, with additional clauses and performance-related bonuses included in the agreement.
The announcement of the presentation ceremony follows the forward’s arrival in Turkey as Trabzonspor prepare to complete the formal stages of the transfer.
The club’s invitation has placed the focus on Papara Park, where supporters will gather to welcome Salah and see him presented publicly in Trabzonspor colours for the first time.
The ceremony is scheduled for the day after the club’s announcement and is intended to mark the beginning of Salah’s spell with the Turkish side. It will also give fans their first opportunity to see the Egypt international at the stadium following his arrival in the country.
Trabzonspor’s statement referred to the occasion as the start of an “unforgettable journey”, while Salah’s message directly asked supporters whether they were ready to meet him.
Further details provided by the club state that the player will complete his medical in Trabzon before putting pen to paper on the two-year contract. His proposed salary is 17m euros for each season, alongside other terms and bonuses.
