Egyptian star, Mohamed Salah starred for Liverpool on Thursday night, helping the team to defeat Tottenham Hotspur in the EFL Cup.
The highly-rated attacker scored on the night and also set up a goal to lead his team to a resounding 4-0 win.
The victory saw Liverpool overturning a 1-0 defeat from the first leg of the semi-final tie to ensure the Reds reach the final where they will now face Newcastle United.
The breakthrough came in the 34th minute when the Egyptian forward set up Cody Gakpo with a perfectly lofted pass, allowing the Dutchman to slot home into the bottom left corner.
Mohamed Salah doubled Liverpool’s lead in the 51st minute, confidently converting a penalty with a powerful strike into the top left corner. The Reds extended their advantage in the 75th minute through Dominik Szoboszlai, who produced a precise finish after receiving a pass from Conor Bradley.
Five minutes later, Alexis Mac Allister delivered a pinpoint corner, setting up Virgil van Dijk to power home a towering header, sealing Liverpool’s emphatic win.
With the 4-1 aggregate triumph, Liverpool march into the final, where they will face Newcastle United in their quest for EFL Cup glory.
