Mohamed Salah stars in Trabzonspor promotional film days after signing

Mohamed Salah has featured in a promotional film for Trabzonspor and the city of Trabzon only days after completing his move to the Turkish club.

The Egypt captain signed a two-year contract with Trabzonspor and has already joined his new team in training as preparations continue for the 2026-27 season.

The club released the film on its social media accounts, with Salah shown wearing the Trabzonspor shirt. In the video, he visits the home of a Turkish family and joins them in eating some of the city’s best-known food.

Salah’s arrival has also had an immediate impact on commercial interest in the club. According to Turkish website 61saat, Trabzonspor sold as many replica shirts in the first two days following his arrival as the club store would normally sell over a period of around six weeks.

The club has also reported an unprecedented demand for season tickets. Trabzonspor announced that 18,000 season tickets had been sold for the 2026-27 campaign, setting a new record in the club’s history.

Its stated target is now to sell 25,000 season tickets.

“Not every record is just a number… some numbers tell the story of a city’s belief, its sense of belonging, and the strength of a united community standing together as one,” Trabzonspor said on X.

“Today, the title of this number is: 18,000. By reaching the 18,000 season-ticket mark for the 2026-27 season, we have broken the historic record for season-ticket sales in our club’s history. This achievement was made possible by proper planning, collective wisdom, patience and the united efforts of hearts believing in one goal.”

The club added: “Because Trabzonspor has never been satisfied with the peaks it has reached. Our story has always been about those who go beyond their own limits.”

“While we are proud of the record we have achieved today, we are also announcing our new target at the same time… 25,000 season tickets! Because this city has never been content to stop at the summit.”

“This crest has always looked towards a new victory on the day after every achievement. We thank all our supporters who contributed to this historic achievement and were part of this great journey.”

Trabzonspor has confirmed that Salah will receive an annual salary of 10m euros, along with a 7m-euro signing-on bonus. That gives him guaranteed total earnings of 17m euros, before performance-related bonuses included in the agreement.

The contract also provides Salah with 20% of the revenue from official products released using his name. His agent’s commission is listed as 5% of the deal, according to the contract details made public by the club.

Salah spent nine seasons with Liverpool before moving to Trabzonspor. During his time with the Reds, he made 315 appearances, scoring 257 goals and providing 120 assists.
