Trabzonspor president Ertugrul Dogan has praised Mohamed Salah’s contribution to the club after the forward scored a hat-trick and provided an assist in a 4-1 victory over Galatasaray.
The match, played at Trabzonspor’s home ground in the sixth round of the Turkish league, saw Salah score three times and create the fourth goal as his side secured a convincing win.
The result moved Salah to the top of the Turkish league’s goalscoring standings, with seven goals.
Speaking to reporters after the match, Dogan said the club’s priority when assembling the squad had been to give its supporters a team they could enjoy.
“When we were building this team, our only thought was how to make these fans happy,” he said.
“We made every possible sacrifice. Of course, we have shortcomings, and we will work to address them during the winter transfer window.
“My only request from our fans and our club is that they give this team every form of support until the transfer window.”
Dogan also highlighted Salah’s character away from the pitch, saying the Egypt forward’s influence extended beyond his performances for Trabzonspor.
“Mohamed Salah is not only a global star, but also a person with an exceptional character worthy of a great player,” Dogan said.
“We are talking about someone who is extremely respectful and humble. Contrary to what people might expect, all he is concerned with is adapting to the city.
“We do not have time to go, but he goes to the mountains entirely on his own initiative. He is also making a huge contribution to promoting the city.”
The Trabzonspor president said Salah had become an important example for the club’s younger players and argued that his arrival should be viewed as more than a football transfer.
“We have many young and valuable players in our team, and Salah is a wonderful example of how these players can develop,” he added.
“Let us not see signing Salah as merely a deal. This transfer contributes to the city’s vision and sends a powerful message to Trabzonspor’s young supporters.
“They have been extremely important, and Salah has repaid them with more than they deserve through his conduct and his performances on the pitch since his first day.”
