Egyptian and African football icon Mohamed Salah was beaming with joy on Sunday evening after playing a pivotal role in Liverpool’s 2-0 triumph over Manchester City in the English Premier League.
The forward showcased his brilliance at Anfield, delivering a Man of the Match performance that proved instrumental in securing the Reds’ crucial win.
Reflecting on the game, Salah expressed his appreciation for the unwavering support of Liverpool’s fans.
“The fans were behind us from the first minute. I’m glad we managed to win the game. We know that Manchester City are going to come at us,” he said.
Salah also highlighted the synergy he shares with teammate Cody Gakpo, revealing how their training pays dividends on the field.
“We train that if I have the ball on one side, he is there at the other post. Every time I have the ball, if there is a chance and I can give it to you, I will,” he shared.
Acknowledging the unique bond he has with the club and its supporters, Salah said, “It is very special. I don’t take it for granted. I’m enjoying every minute here, it feels like home. It is always a special feeling scoring at Anfield and winning games. The atmosphere was incredible, so I will enjoy every second here. Hopefully, we just win the league and we will see what will happen.”
However, the night wasn’t without a hint of uncertainty. Salah made a surprising comment about his future at the club, hinting at a potential departure.
“Honestly, it’s in my head. Until now, this is the last City game I will play for Liverpool, so I was just going to enjoy it,” he said, leaving fans speculating about what lies ahead.
