Mohamed Salah makes Trabzonspor history with Galatasaray hat-trick

Mohamed Salah became the first Trabzonspor player to score a hat-trick against Galatasaray at Papara Park as his side secured a 4-0 victory in the sixth round of the Turkish league.

The Egypt forward was involved in every goal, scoring three times and providing the assist for the other as Trabzonspor produced a commanding performance against Galatasaray.

Salah’s treble was a landmark moment for the club. No Trabzonspor player had previously scored three goals against Galatasaray at the team’s home ground.

The result also moved Salah to the top of the Turkish league’s scoring charts with seven goals. He now leads Galatasaray striker Victor Osimhen, who has scored six times.

It was Salah’s first hat-trick in the Turkish league and his first for a club since he scored three goals against Rangers on 12 October 2022 in the group stage of the Champions League.

His latest achievement also ended a longer wait for a hat-trick in any competition. Salah’s previous treble had come when he scored four goals for Egypt against Djibouti in World Cup qualifying on 16 November 2023.

Salah was awarded a perfect 10 rating by SofaScore for his display and was named the match’s best player.
