Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah has cemented his place among the UEFA Champions League’s all-time greats by breaking into the competition’s top 10 scorers.
The Egyptian forward achieved the milestone during Liverpool’s victory over Girona in Catalonia on Tuesday.

Later the same evening, Salah was overtaken by French international Kylian Mbappé, who also reached 50 goals in the competition after scoring for Real Madrid against Atalanta.
Despite this, Salah’s historic feat underscores his consistency and prominence in European football’s elite tournament.
Climbing the rankings
Salah’s current record in the Champions League proper stands at 46 goals, leaving him just two strikes shy of breaking into the top 10 scorers without including qualifying matches.
He trails Ukrainian icon Andriy Shevchenko and Swedish forward Zlatan Ibrahimović, both of whom tallied 48 goals during their illustrious careers.
Mbappé, who has never featured in qualifying rounds, remains ahead of Salah in the rankings, further fueling the friendly rivalry between the two prolific forwards.
