Mohamed Salah is frustrated for not playing against PSG – Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard
Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard has praised Mohamed Salah for his professionalism and work ethic following the Reds’ 2-0 defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League quarterfinal first leg.
The Egyptian forward did not feature in the match but was spotted training individually afterward.
Speaking to TNT Sports, Gerrard highlighted Salah’s dedication despite his frustration.
“Mohamed Salah is frustrated. I think he’ll sit down and think, ‘I trust I can make an impact on this game and improve it,” he said.
“Especially from a future point of view, I think he’ll be a little sad and disappointed, but credit goes to him, you know, he stayed there and did an extra run.
“Because if there wasn’t a game midweek, Wednesday would probably be a big training session, so he’s already thinking about Fulham and doing extra work, which shows his professionalism and the mentality he’s dealing with,” he added.
Salah, who is widely expected to leave Liverpool at the end of the season, could return to the squad for Liverpool’s Premier League clash with Fulham this weekend.
