Mohamed Salah included in Trabzonspor squad for KuPS Conference League opener

Mohamed Salah has been named in Trabzonspor’s squad for Thursday’s UEFA Conference League meeting with Finnish side KuPS.

Trabzonspor travel to face KuPS at 19:45 on Thursday in their opening match of the competition’s league phase.

Salah’s involvement had been uncertain because the match will be played on an artificial-turf pitch. However, Trabzonspor manager Thomas Reis included the Egypt international in the squad announced for the fixture.

The forward was absent from Egypt’s second-round World Cup qualifying match against South Sudan because of the artificial playing surface.

Salah has made a strong start to his time in the Turkish league, scoring seven goals and providing three assists in seven matches.

Trabzonspor entered the UEFA Conference League after being eliminated from the UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds by Hungarian club Ferencvaros. They lost 5-0 on aggregate.
