Mohamed Salah faces a 21-day recovery period, Liverpool return holds the key

A confidential source confirmed that Dr. Ashraf Sobhy, the Minister of Youth and Sports, has been in contact with the Egyptian national team in Côte d’Ivoire after the decision for Mohamed Salah to return to England for his ongoing treatment at Liverpool.

In an exclusive statement to Al-Bawaba News, the source unveiled heavyweight news regarding Mohamed Salah’s injury, asserting that the medical report from the Egyptian national team indicates a recovery period of 3 to 4 weeks before Salah can return to the pitch.

The source continued, stating that Liverpool has received this report, prompting them to urge Salah’s swift return to complete his therapeutic and rehabilitation program in England, with the aim of reducing the recovery time to just two weeks.

Jurgen Klopp, the German manager of Liverpool, announced the return of the Egyptian player Mohamed Salah to the team following his injury during the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 with the Egyptian national team.

Mohamed Salah sustained the injury during the match against Ghana in the second round of the group stage of the Africa Cup of Nations, exiting early in the first half due to the impact of the injury.

Klopp stated during a press conference after the Bournemouth match that Mohamed Salah would return to Liverpool to continue his treatment and rehabilitation in the coming period.

After additional examinations for Mohamed Salah in the last few hours and communication between the medical staff of the national team and their counterparts at Liverpool, it has been decided that the player will return to England after the Cape Verde match tomorrow to continue his treatment, with the hope that he will be able to join the national team in the pre-final round of the Africa Cup of Nations in case of qualification.

The Football Association is expected to release a statement shortly regarding Mohamed Salah’s travel to England.
