Mohamed Ounajem: Morocco winger joins Kenitra from Kahraba

Morocco winger Mohamed Ounajem has joined Kenitra from Egyptian club Kahraba, returning to Moroccan football at the age of 34.

The right-sided attacker completed the move on 7 September 2026 after spending the previous season with Kahraba. Ounajem had returned to the Egyptian club in July following a loan spell at Hassania, where he played during the second half of the 2025-26 campaign.

Ounajem initially joined Kahraba from Al-Soqour Club in July 2025 on a free transfer. His move to Hassania was completed as a loan in January 2026, before he returned to Kahraba at the end of that temporary spell.

Kenitra become the latest Moroccan club in a senior career that has included spells with Wydad Casablanca, Zamalek and CA Khenifra. Ounajem began his senior career with Khenifra Reserves before moving to CA Khenifra in 2010, and joined Wydad in 2015.

His time at Wydad brought major domestic and continental success. He won the CAF Champions League in 2017 and helped the club claim three Moroccan league titles, in 2016-17, 2018-19 and 2020-21. He also won the CAF Super Cup with Wydad in 2018.

Ounajem later moved to Zamalek, where he was part of two Egyptian championship-winning teams in 2020-21 and 2021-22. During his time with the Cairo club, he also won the Egyptian Cup and Egyptian Super Cup in 2019-20, as well as another CAF Super Cup.

Across his career, Ounajem has made 195 appearances in Morocco’s Botola Pro Inwi, scoring 22 goals and providing 51 assists. He has also featured 80 times in the CAF Champions League, contributing six goals and 17 assists.

A right-footed player whose primary position is right wing, Ounajem has a career market value of €75,000. His return to Morocco adds a player with extensive domestic and African club experience to Kenitra’s squad.

Ounajem has now completed his move from Kahraba to Kenitra.
