In an exclusive interview with FilGoal.com, Mohamed Meselhi, the President of Alexandria’s Union Club, disclosed the price tag for the sale of their star striker and Angolan international, Augustinio Mabulolo, after his standout performance against Algeria in the Africa Cup of Nations 2023 in Ivory Coast.
Mabulolo, who entered the match during the first half with Algeria leading, secured a penalty and converted it into a goal, equalizing the score for Angola.
When asked about Mabulolo’s current selling price after his impressive goal against Algeria, Meselhi responded, “The minimum amount for Mabulolo’s sale after his performance in the Africa Cup of Nations is $5 million.”
He further stated, “If an offer matching this figure comes in for Mabulolo, he will be sold immediately.”
Meselhi went on to reveal, “The latest offer received for Mabulolo was $2.5 million.”
Highlighting the growing interest in Mabulolo, Meselhi commented, “If there were some mid-table Saudi clubs interested in signing Mabulolo, now there will undoubtedly be larger clubs seeking to acquire him, and this will increase his price.”
Sharing insights into the situation, Meselhi mentioned, “The Vice President of Besiktas in Turkey contacted me, inquiring about Mabulolo.
He informed me that Ahmed Hassan had impressed with the team before, and they reached out to him to inquire about Mabulolo, asking about his age as well.
He conveyed his club’s desire to sign the player.”
Concluding his statements, Meselhi expressed his hope for Mabulolo’s continued success with the Angolan national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, anticipating more goal-scoring achievements from the prolific striker.
Mabulolo, who claimed the top scorer title in the Egyptian Premier League last season (2022-2023), has already netted six goals for Alexandria’s Union Club in the current season, securing the second spot in the scorers’ chart, just one goal behind Mustafa Abdel Raouf, also known as “Ziko,” from Zamalek.
