Mohamed Medjadji: Algerian goalkeeper joins ES Ben Aknoun on free transfer
Algerian goalkeeper Mohamed Medjadji has joined ES Ben Aknoun on a free transfer from MO Bejaia ahead of the 2026-27 Ligue 1 season. The 24-year-old moves to the top-flight club after a short spell with the second-tier side, continuing his rise through the domestic game.
Medjadji, born in Chlef on 30 March 2002, arrives at Ben Aknoun as goalkeeping reinforcements for the new campaign, with the move confirmed on 13 July 2026. The deal sees him remain in Algerian football, stepping back into Ligue 1 after time in the lower divisions.
The keeper only joined MO Bejaia in January 2026, also on a free transfer, having been promoted from ASO Chlef’s youth ranks to their senior side in August 2024. His progression from ASO Chlef U21 to the first team and then on to Bejaia has brought him regular senior involvement over the past two seasons.
Medjadji’s switch to ES Ben Aknoun marks the latest step for a player whose highest recorded market value reached €100,000 during his time at ASO Chlef. Primarily a goalkeeper, he will compete for a place in Ben Aknoun’s matchday squad as the club prepares for the upcoming Ligue 1 campaign.
The move completes Medjadji’s free transfer from MO Bejaia to ES Ben Aknoun ahead of the 2026-27 season.
