Following the postponed match against Moghreb Tetouan, Mohamed Medhie, assistant coach of Wydad Casablanca, addressed the press, emphasizing the noticeable improvement in the team’s performance compared to previous rounds.
Medhie acknowledged the challenges faced, such as fatigue and absences due to injuries.
Despite these hurdles, he viewed the enhanced performance positively, especially as it precedes the upcoming break, providing an opportunity to address various shortcomings.
The Tunisian assistant to coach Faouzi Benzarti expressed the team’s desire for victory and accumulating three points, a gesture they hoped to dedicate to the unwavering support of Wydad’s fans.
However, their aspirations were dampened by a lack of focus in front of the goal and numerical disadvantage after Amin Aboufattah’s expulsion.
“We had hoped for a victory, but it didn’t materialize.
The upcoming break will be crucial for us, and we will work better with the new players who will be recruited.
We will undertake a training camp after the players are rested for a week, and then we will see the group’s improvement,” said Medhie.
Regarding the officiating, Medhie clarified that the fourth official informed him that a yellow card was insufficient, and coach Benzarti needed to be sent off.
He urged referees to respect players and the technical staff, emphasizing the importance of maintaining a sportsmanship context.
“We are aware of the responsibility placed on us.
We ask Wydad’s fans for their support and continued backing.
The results will be better after the league hiatus.
The problem, for me, is not creating opportunities against the current team; it’s merely a matter of lacking luck,” Medhie concluded.
