Algerian Midfielder Mohamed Maouche Signs Two-Year Deal with Tours FC
France – Ligue 2 side Tours FC have confirmed the signing of midfielder Mohamed Maouche on a two-year contract.
The 22-year-old, who was born in Algeria, joins the French club after the expiration of his contract with Swiss outfit FC Lausanne-Sport. His arrival was officially announced by Tours on Saturday, with the deal set to keep him at the club until the summer of 2017.
Maouche brings with him experience from the Swiss Super League, having spent the last few seasons developing his game with Lausanne. While details of the transfer were not disclosed, the move is seen as a promising step in the player’s career as he looks to establish himself in French football.
Speaking following the announcement, a Tours club spokesperson expressed optimism about the midfielder’s potential impact on the squad: “Mohamed is a talented young player with great technical ability and vision. We believe he will bring quality to our midfield as we prepare for the challenges of the upcoming season.”
Maouche, who holds dual nationality, came through the youth ranks in Switzerland before making his senior debut with Lausanne. His consistent performances in the midfield earned him recognition and ultimately paved the way for his move to France.
Tours FC, who finished mid-table in the previous Ligue 2 campaign, are currently in the process of strengthening their squad ahead of the new season. The addition of Maouche is expected to add depth and creativity to their midfield options.
The club will be hoping the Algerian-born midfielder can quickly adapt to the pace and physicality of French football as they aim to improve on last season’s performance.
