Al Ahly have clarified recent reports surrounding the absence of first-team playmaker Mohamed Magdy Afsha from the Red Devils’ latest matches, confirming that the midfielder has been recovering from an injury sustained during his recent involvement with the second national team at the Arab Cup.
According to a club source, Afsha returned from international duty carrying an injury that required him to undergo an intensive treatment and rehabilitation programme before being cleared to rejoin full team activities.
The source noted that the player has now completed this recovery phase and has started taking part in group training sessions.
Despite his return to training, the source stressed that the technical staff are dealing with Afsha’s situation with great caution at this stage.
The club is said to be keen on avoiding any risk by rushing the midfielder back into competitive action before being fully satisfied with his physical and technical readiness, preferring a gradual reintegration to prevent any aggravation of the injury or a fresh setback.
Touching on the player’s future, the source revealed that Afsha has recently received two official offers, one from a Libyan club and another from Ceramica Cleopatra. At the same time, it was confirmed that there are currently no offers from Iraqi side Al-Zawraa, contrary to some circulating reports.
