Mohamed Jaouab: Morocco defender linked with Raja Casablanca move from Real Valladolid

Moroccan centre-back Mohamed Jaouab of Real Valladolid is being linked with a move to Raja Casablanca in the Botola Pro Inwi as the Casablanca giants assess defensive options for the new campaign.

Jaouab, 24, is under contract with Valladolid until June 2028, meaning any deal would require the Moroccan club to negotiate a transfer fee with the Spanish side rather than explore a free transfer. The defender is currently valued at around €600,000, a figure likely to form a reference point in any talks over his future.

The Casablanca-born club are understood to be monitoring players with recent experience in European second tiers, and Jaouab’s time in Spain and France fits that profile. Since arriving at Valladolid from Stade Rennais on a free transfer in August 2025, he has featured in LaLiga2, scoring once in seven league appearances.

Before moving to Spain, Jaouab built his reputation in France, notably making 35 appearances in Ligue 2 and adding further senior minutes in the French lower divisions and the Coupe de France. His development at Rennes and subsequent loan spell at Amiens SC preceded his permanent step into the Spanish game.

Raja’s interest comes at a time when the Casablanca club continue to reshape their squad with an eye on domestic and continental competitions, and a move for a Morocco-born defender with European experience would align with that strategy. For now, Jaouab remains a Valladolid player with two years left on his deal and no agreement in place between the clubs.
