Mohamed Hamdaoui has left SC Telstar and is now a free agent after his contract with the Eerste Divisie club came to an end. The Dutch-Moroccan left winger officially departed Telstar in a move registered as a transfer to “Without Club,” confirming his status on the open market. The transaction was completed on 2026-02-03, with no transfer fee involved and his market value listed at €250k at the time of departure. With no new employer announced, the 32-year-old is available to sign for interested clubs as a free player.
The move ends Hamdaoui’s latest spell with Telstar, a club he had previously represented with distinction and where his market value had most recently been assessed at €250k. The transfer is recorded as a standard move rather than a loan or internal adjustment, underlining that his contractual ties to the Velsen-based side have been fully severed. His new “club” designation, Without Club, signals that he is unattached rather than committed to any team or league structure.
Hamdaoui’s exit continues a well-travelled career that has taken him across several levels of Dutch football and into the Azerbaijani top flight. Born in Amsterdam and holding both Netherlands and Morocco nationality, he developed through the youth ranks at HFC Haarlem and Vitesse Arnhem, progressing from Vitesse’s U19 side to their U21 team. From there he earned a loan move to FC Dordrecht before stepping into the professional spotlight with Go Ahead Eagles.
After a short spell as a free agent earlier in his career, Hamdaoui first joined Telstar in 2017, building a reputation as a lively right-footed operator on the left flank. His form there prompted a switch to De Graafschap, followed by a loan and subsequent return involving FC Twente. A productive period at De Graafschap saw his market value climb steadily, eventually attracting interest from abroad and resulting in a move to Zira FC in Azerbaijan, where he experienced a different footballing culture and competitive environment.
His time with Zira FC coincided with the peak of his market valuation at around €500k, reflecting strong performances in the Azerbaijani league before a return to the Netherlands with ADO Den Haag. Subsequent moves brought him back to Telstar, where his valuation stabilised around the €250k mark ahead of his current free-agent status.
Listed primarily as an attacking left winger and preferring his right foot, Hamdaoui offers versatility and experience across multiple systems. He has competed in the Dutch professional pyramid for clubs including Go Ahead Eagles, Telstar, De Graafschap, FC Dordrecht and ADO Den Haag, and has experience in a foreign top division with Zira FC. That breadth of background could make him an appealing short-term option for clubs looking for a seasoned wide player without paying a transfer fee.
With his contract at Telstar now concluded and his registration held under the “Without Club” designation, the next step in Hamdaoui’s career will depend on interest from both Dutch and foreign sides. Given his previous stint abroad and dual Dutch-Moroccan nationality, a return to playing outside the Netherlands is a clear possibility. Any new agreement would likely see him compete in a different league framework from his homeland, adding another chapter to a career that has already spanned multiple clubs and countries. How quickly he finds a new home, and at what competitive level, will go a long way toward shaping the final years of his professional journey.
