Mohamed Fadl, former player for the Egyptian national team, emphasized that hiring any coach is always contingent on results, not a blanket contract without conditions.
Speaking on the “Al Captain” program with Ahmed Hassan on dmc channel, Fadl stated, “There is always excellence in handball, while football has many problems within its system.”
He added, “Are we following a sports plan? Are the Association’s choices for the board correct? All sports matters happen by chance, even the selection of Hassan Shehata happened by chance.”
Fadl insisted that Egypt needs a stronger presence in the African Football Confederation, alongside the significant role played by Hany Abo Rida in this context.
He highlighted Egypt’s wealth of outstanding talents but emphasized the need for organized efforts to achieve tangible results on the ground.
“We must draw inspiration from various experiences of different countries and models and work on utilizing them to develop and reform the entire system,” Fadl continued.
Regarding the fate of Carlos Vitoria, Fadl expressed that if Vitoria were to leave, it would be preferable to have Herve Renard as the replacement.
Renard is a great coach with significant achievements, and his coaching of the Egyptian national team would bring value.
However, Fadl noted the element of luck in responding to Vitoria’s fate, especially if there is a lack of success.
Fadl clarified that when Hossam Hassan, Ahmed Hassan, and Essam El-Hadary speak about the Egyptian national team, they do so because they are the most decorated in terms of championships.
They speak from a position of responsibility and from the heart.
He pointed out that the statements made by Rami Abbas, the agent of Mohamed Salah, are provocative and do not understand the nature of the Egyptian people.
Such provocations would lead Egyptians to disregard them, as Egyptians are very passionate and emotional.
