Mohamed Elneny has chosen a quieter path ahead of the new season, putting football first and stepping back from social media.
The 32-year-old Al Jazira midfielder revealed that he will be deactivating his Instagram account temporarily to maintain focus on his club duties. Elneny, who joined the UAE side in August 2024 after ending a long spell with Arsenal, shared the news with fans in a heartfelt message.
“I’m sorry guys, I’ll be deactivating my Instagram account for a while, but God willing I’ll be back soon,” he said.
Known for his daily activity on Instagram, Elneny’s silence came as a surprise to many of his followers. But he clarified his choice had nothing to do with controversy—just a desire to avoid distractions as he settles into life with his new team.
“For God’s sake, I don’t want anyone to say what happened. The thing is that I’m busy with the club these days and I don’t want other things to distract me,” he added.
Fans will now wait patiently for his return, on and off the pitch.
