Mohamed Elneny joins Levadiakos for sixth club of professional career

Mohamed Elneny has joined Greek club Levadiakos on a free transfer, becoming the sixth club of the former Egypt international midfielder’s professional career.

The 34-year-old left UAE side Al Jazira at the end of last season after his contract expired. He had moved to Al Jazira in the summer of 2024, following the conclusion of his time with Arsenal.

Elneny began his senior career with Egyptian club El Mokawloon before moving to Basel. He subsequently played for Arsenal, Besiktas and Al Jazira.

His arrival comes as Levadiakos sit bottom of the Greek league with one point from their opening five matches. The club finished fifth last season with 42 points but have struggled at the start of the current campaign.

Levadiakos have lost to PAOK, Panathinaikos, Panetolikos and Olympiacos. Their only point came from a goalless draw with Kifisia, and they have yet to score in the league this season.

The squad also includes former Al Ahly striker Aliou Badji.

Elneny made 27 appearances for Al Jazira in all competitions last season, scoring twice and providing one assist. He helped the club win the President’s Cup (Professional League) in 2025.

Across his time with Al Jazira, Elneny played 60 matches in all competitions, scoring three goals and setting up four more.
