Mohamed El Shazly: Egyptian defender joins Bilqas City on free transfer from Kafr Elzayat

Veteran Egyptian right-back Mohamed El Shazly has joined Bilqas City on a free transfer from Kafr Elzayat.

The 37-year-old defender, born in Kom Hamada, makes the move after three seasons with Kafr Elzayat, whom he also joined as a free agent from Tanta SC in August 2023. The switch keeps El Shazly in Egyptian football and adds experience to Bilqas City’s defensive options on the right side.

El Shazly, a right-footed full-back, has accumulated top-flight experience in Egypt, notably during his time with Ittihad Alexandria and later Tanta. Across league and cup competitions, he has made more than 40 senior appearances, including 39 outings in the Egyptian Premier League, where he registered one goal and regularly featured over full matches.

His latest move continues a career built largely within domestic clubs, with Bilqas City becoming the fourth side of his professional journey after spells at Ittihad Alexandria, Tanta SC and Kafr Elzayat. The transfer was completed on 11 July 2026, following the expiry of his most recent deal.

El Shazly now links up with Bilqas City as an experienced option at right-back after leaving Kafr Elzayat on a free transfer.
