Raja Casablanca face a demanding away assignment when they visit Club Meknes next Sunday at 6 pm at the Honorary Stadium in Meknes in the National Professional Championship.
The Green Eagles are expected to receive a boost ahead of the encounter with the return of midfielder Mohamed El Makazi. The player missed Raja’s previous league outing against Renaissance Zemamra after sustaining an injury during a training session, which ruled him out for ten days following a medical assessment by the club’s staff.
Raja will also welcome back Mohamed Boulksout, who sat out the Zemamra match due to suspension after being shown a red card in the ninth-round clash against Ittihad Touarga. His availability adds depth to the squad as Raja look to maintain their upward momentum.
However, the Casablanca giants will travel to Meknes without defender Abdellah Khafifi, who is set to miss the fixture after accumulating the maximum number of yellow cards.
Raja head into the match in confident mood after recording an emphatic 3-0 victory over Renaissance Zemamra last Sunday at the Mohammed V Complex. That result temporarily lifted them into third place on the league table with 19 points, sitting just one point behind joint leaders Maghreb Fez and Wydad Casablanca, and narrowly ahead of FAR Rabat on 18 points.
With form on their side and key players returning, Raja Casablanca will be keen to assert themselves in Meknes, though they are well aware that Club Meknes will pose a stern challenge on home soil.
