Mohamed Diamé Completes Move to Hull City as Premier League Transfer Deadline Closes
Senegalese midfielder Mohamed Diamé has completed his transfer from West Ham United to Hull City, signing a three-year contract with the Tigers. The deal was confirmed on Monday during the final hours of the Premier League transfer window, with the fee undisclosed.
Diamé, 26, had been seeking a move for several months, expressing his ambition to join one of England’s top clubs. Speaking in April, he said: “I have ambitions, and I would like to see myself in the English Big 6. Now, at the end of this season, I will still have a year left on my contract with West Ham, so I don’t know how it will go. But I won’t hide it from you, I am ambitious, I want to aim higher. I am 26 years old, the time has come to take that step.”
Despite strong links to established Premier League sides such as Liverpool and Everton, Diamé remained with West Ham for the start of the 2014-15 season. After featuring in three games for the Hammers, the Senegal captain has now moved on to Hull City, where he will be looking to make a significant impact under manager Steve Bruce.
This transfer marks Diamé’s third club in English football, having previously played for Wigan Athletic and West Ham United.
