Mohamed Diaby: Guinea striker joins USSA Vertou after spell without club

Guinea forward Mohamed Diaby has joined French side USSA Vertou, ending a brief spell without a club by signing on as a centre-forward for the National 3 outfit.

The 24-year-old, born in Conakry and standing at 1.87m, arrives at Vertou as a free agent after leaving Luxembourg side Berbourg in 2025. He officially completed his move on 10 July 2026, adding a physically imposing right-footed option to the clubs attacking line.

Diabys career has taken him across several European leagues, with competitive experience in Luxembourg, Kosovo and France. He featured in both the Ehrenpromotion and the BGL Ligue during his time with Titus Petange and Berbourg, making more than 30 league appearances across the two divisions and scoring seven goals. He also found the net in Kosovos domestic cup while with KF Trepca 89.

Before his move to Berbourg, Diaby had switched clubs regularly on free transfers, joining Bourg-en-Bresse from Titus Petange in 2022 and later moving on to Boulay and then Trepca 89. His earlier spells have given him exposure to different playing styles and levels, including cup football in Luxembourg and Kosovo.

USSA Vertou will look to tap into that varied experience as Diaby settles into French football once again. The Guinea striker now begins the next phase of his career with the Vertou side after completing his free transfer to the club.
