Olympique Club de Khouribga has officially announced the appointment of Mohamed Ben Messaoud as their new head coach. The Moroccan club made the decision on Monday, June 24, following the departure of Mounir Jaouani, who was unable to meet the club’s objectives.

Ben Messaoud steps in to take the helm after a season with USM Oujda, where he gained significant experience.

The 41-year-old coach has signed a one-year contract with Olympique Khouribga, with the option for an additional year if he meets the club’s targets.

The primary goal set for him is to lead the team back to the professional championship.

“The Olympique Khouribga Club has reached an agreement with coach Mohamed Ben Messaoud to supervise its technical team during the next season, with a contract for a period of one season, renewable for an additional season in the event of achieving the objectives set, first and foremost a return to the professional championship,” the club stated on its Facebook page.

Mounir Jaouani, who was brought in mid-season with the hope of securing promotion, could not deliver on that promise.

Under his guidance, the team finished in 8th place in Division 2 with 39 points, a performance that led to his dismissal.

The club’s management decided that a change was necessary to reignite their campaign for a return to the top tier.

Ben Messaoud faces a challenging task as he takes over a team that has struggled to find consistent form.

However, his previous stints have shown his capability to inspire and rebuild teams.

His approach and strategic planning will be crucial as Olympique Khouribga aims to make a swift comeback to the professional championship.

Olympique Khouribga, a club with a rich history and a strong fan base, is eager to return to the higher echelons of Moroccan football.

The supporters and the club’s hierarchy have high expectations from Ben Messaoud, who brings a blend of tactical acumen and motivational skills.

His immediate focus will be on strengthening the squad during the transfer window and ensuring that the team is well-prepared for the challenges ahead.

The club’s decision to offer a performance-based extension highlights their commitment to long-term success.

If Ben Messaoud can achieve the set goals, he will have the opportunity to continue building and improving the team beyond the initial contract period.

As the new season approaches, all eyes will be on how Mohamed Ben Messaoud molds Olympique Khouribga.

The club’s fortunes now rest on his shoulders, and the fans are hopeful that his tenure will mark the beginning of a successful era.

The upcoming season will be pivotal for Olympique Khouribga, with the immediate aim of securing promotion and restoring their status in Moroccan football.

Ben Messaoud’s appointment is seen as a positive step towards achieving these ambitions, and the club is optimistic about the future under his guidance.
