Angers SCO are on the hunt for a centre-forward to strengthen their attacking force in the winter transfer window.
The Ligue 1 newcomers secured a crucial 1-0 win over Stade Brestois 29 on Sunday, lifting them to 14th in the league as they aim to avoid relegation. With just 16 goals scored so far, only three teams have fewer Ligue 1 goals than Angers, making the signing of a prolific striker a top priority.
Reports from Ouest-France reveal that Angers have approached Lille about Mohamed Bayo (26), the Guinea international whose game time has become increasingly limited under Lille coach Bruno Genesio. With Jonathan David firmly established as the starting striker, Bayo has struggled for minutes and was even omitted from the matchday squad due to his performances in training.
While Bayo’s wages could pose a challenge, Angers are keen on bringing the forward in as part of their push to secure safety in Ligue 1. The club is also looking to trim the squad to balance finances.
