Mohamed Amsif has signed a three-year contract with Union Berlin, a club competing in Germany’s second division (Bundesliga 2), after his contract with FC Augsburg ended. Having dropped from first-choice to third-choice goalkeeper at Augsburg, Amsif will now compete with Daniel Haas for the starting spot.
Amsif expressed optimism about the move: “Competition is good for the club. My goal is to play and give my best to gain the coach’s trust.”
Union Berlin’s coach, Norbert Düwel, welcomed the signing, saying: “Amsif had a lot of difficulties with Augsburg, where he didn’t play much. He’s a talented player, and I’m happy he signed with us. He’ll have his chance to prove himself to us.”
Notably, Amsif was omitted from Morocco’s last match against Russia.
